LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery women's tennis team dropped their first Gulf South Conference match of the season on Friday, falling to league foe West Alabama 6-3 at the Vaughan Tennis Complex on the campus of the Tigers.

• AUM falls to 2-2 on the year with a 2-1 mark in GSC play.
• UWA improves to 3-2 overall and 2-1 in league action.
• The win for the Tigers avenges a 6-3 defeat at the hands of the Warhawks last season.

• No. 1 Singles: Katia De La Garza defeatd Sofia Navarro 6-2, 6-1.
• No. 2 Singles: Tonja Foessmeier defeated Evelyn Moreno 6-2, 6-2
• No. 3 Singles: Julie Gonzalez-Rodriguez defeated Alejandra Gil 6-3, 6-2.
• No. 4 Singles: Georgina Salom defeated Sofia Mustre 6-4, 4-6, 6-2.
• No. 5 Singles: Alba De la Torre defeated Imperia Martinez Mora 6-4, 6-2.
• No. 6 Singles: Andrea Tomassone defeated Julia Enderink 6-1, 2-6, 6-1.
• No. 1 Doubles: De La Garza and Salom defeated Gil and Navarro 8-6.
• No. 2 Doubles: Moreno and Gonzalez-Rodriguez defeated De La Torre and Enderink 8-3.
• No. 3 Doubles: Foessmeier and Mustre defeated Mora and Liliana Araucz 8-5.
 
UP NEXT
Both squads will play Augusta University in a dual match on Monday. The match is set to begin at noon on the campus of the Jaguars.
