VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Auburn Montgomery women's tennis team earned a 6-3 victory over Gulf South Conference foe Valdosta State on Monday afternoon at the VSU Tennis Courts, taking four singles and two doubles contest to win its second league match in a row.
MATCH NOTES
• AUM improves to 6-7 on the season overall and 5-3 in GSC play.
• The Blazers fall to 2-9 this year and 2-3 in league action.
QUOTING THE COACH
"We played very solid today," said head coach
Yair Banuelos. "We have been working on our doubles game and today we showed a big improvement in our performances. We lost a close tiebreaker at No. 1 doubles, but overall we played with more confidence. We kept the momentum going in singles. I am happy with the performance of the ladies today and I feel confident going into the rest of the conference matches."

Alejandra Gil defeated Hera Bork Brynjarsdottir 6-0, 6-2.

Alba De la Torre defeated Taylor Vinge 6-1, 6-0.
• No. 6 Singles:
Julia Enderink defeated Amelia Cornwall 6-3, 6-2.
• No. 1 Doubles: Schmidt and Widdershoven defeated Enderink and Navarro 9-8 (5).
• No. 2 Doubles: De La Torre and Gil defeated Barta and Bork Brynjarsdottir 8-4.
• No. 3 Doubles: Foessmeier and Mustre defeated Anke Poncelet and Vinge 8-0.
