Baseball to Play Four-Game Set in Eastern Florida this Week

MONTGOMERY, Ala. --- The Auburn Montgomery baseball team will take to the road this week for a four-game road trip on the eastern coast of Florida, with games at Flagler College (March 13), Embry-Riddle (March 14 & 16) and a neutral-site matchup against Northwood (March 15) in Daytona Beach, Fla.

ABOUT THE WARHAWKS
AUM (12-9,6-6 GSC) heads into their four-game road trip having took two of three games at Union University in Gulf South Conference action in their most recent series. The Warhawks took the series opener 8-5 on Sunday Mach 10, and won the rubber match on Monday March 11 4-2.
 
The Warhawks hold a team batting average of .279 through 21 games, highlighted by five players on the squad batting above .300. Zach Feaster leads the Orange and Black with a .381 batting average, while Dalton Cobb (.356), Jonathan Brandt (.329), Matthew Zielonko (.319), Sage Smelley (.304) and Quinterrious Arrington (.303) all bring a plus-.300 average into the week.
 
Cobb leads AUM with 26 base hits on the year, while also unofficially ranking second in the conference with eight doubles. Zielonko's six doubles sit right off of Cobb's pace, while he also unofficially ranks among the top 10 performers in the Gulf South with 20 runs batted in and four home runs, and leads the Warhawks with seven multi-RBI games and a current 17 game on-base streak. 
 
Arrington unofficially leads all GSC players with 16 stolen bases, while his 15 walks and six hit by pitches lead the Warhawks and rank among the top 10 in the conference. The junior outfielder also leads AUM with 19 runs scored, eight multi-hit games and has reached base safely in his last 14 contests.  
 
Todd Burkett, Keegan Fairley, Micah Henderson, Troy Jones and Sam Steigert have all amassed two wins for AUM on the mound this season, with T. Burkett posting a GSC-high four saves on the year. T. Burkett has allowed just five earned runs over 20 innings, for a 2.25 earned run average.
 
Jones has compiled a staff-high 31 innings of work, to go along with a team-best 30 strikeouts in 2019. Relievers Wade Bannister (.125), Ross Carpenter (.176), T. Burkett (.143) and Fairley (.175) are all holding opposing batters to a sub-.200 batting average, with T. Burkett (0.85) and Fairley (0.99) possessing a WHIP under one.
