MONTGOMERY, Ala. --- The Auburn Montgomery baseball team will play host to Valdosta State University for a three-game Gulf South Conference series this weekend, beginning with a doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 22 and concluding with a single game on Sunday, Feb. 23.

ABOUT THE WARHAWKS
AUM (4-6, 3-0 GSC) comes into the weekend winners of four straight, highlighted by a series sweep over Christian Brothers to open up GSC play last weekend at home. The Warhawks currently sit atop the conference standings with Mississippi College (3-0 GSC) as the only two teams to sweep the opening weekend in league play.
Head Coach
Marty Lovrich comes into the weekend needing just one more victory to reach 250 career wins as a head coach. The win will additionally be Lovrich's 165th with the Warhawks since taking over in 2015.

The Orange and Black are batting .294 as a team and have collected 99 hits through 10 games, both marks that rank for second in the GSC. AUM additionally ranks fifth in the conference in both runs scored (65) and runs driven in (59).
Dalton Cobb (.371) and Zielonko (.333) lead qualified Warhawk hitters in batting average and rank third in the Gulf South with 13 base hits each. Cobb leads the GSC with 11 runs scored, while Zielonko ranks third with 11 runs batted in.
On the mound, M. Henderson has logged a team-high two victories over 19 innings of work, the fourth-highest inning tally by a GSC pitcher this season. The senior righty sports a 2.84 earned run average, having given up just six earned runs in three starts.
Jones leads AUM with 14 batters struck out, while
Logan Coleman and
Sam Steigert have appeared in a team-high five contests each. Coleman is holding opposing hitters to a .259 average, with Steigert posting a .262 opponents batting average.
ABOUT THE BLAZERS
Valdosta State heads into their clash with AUM having split with Shorter University in a weather-shortened two-game GSC series last weekend in Valdosta, Ga.
The Blazers are sporting a .282 team batting average that ranks for third in the conference, led by three of the top six hitters in the GSC in Jordan Holt (.600), Nick Lewis (.500) and Mike Christopoulos (.423). Alec Aleywine ranks ninth in the league with a team-best nine runs scored.
The Blazers sport a 3.91 team ERA and are led by Tristan Cone's (2-0) 17 innings pitched and 24 strikeouts. Zach Blankenship (1-0) has struck out 14 batters over 14 innings, while Cooper Cain (1.86 ERA) and Aleywine (0.96 ERA) both boast an ERA under two in nine-plus innings of work each this season.
