Women’s Cross Country Honors Six on All-Decade Team

| By:
MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Six former runners from the Auburn University at Montgomery women's cross-country team have been placed on the all-decade team for their efforts during the 2010s.

Headlined by the Runner of The Decade HollyAnn Goble, AUM has seen its share of incredible runners throughout the program's short history. Goble (2013-16) holds many records for AUM women's cross-country. Goble was named All-Conference SSAC and participated in the NAIA National Qualifier.

The four-year competitor currently holds five of the top times in the 5k, including the best score in program history, running a 17:59.00 at the 2016 Royals Cross Country Challenge. Goble's dominance does not stop there. She has also captured two more records in the 6k, including the top time of 21:55.80 at the Crimson Classic in 2016.

Leah Bassow ran for the Orange & Black in 2016 and made her mark in the record books. Bassow holds the program's fifth-fastest time in the 5k, accomplishing an 18:51.70 score at the 2016 Royals Cross Country Challenge. She also has captured two spots in the top-10 in the 6k races, most notably a 23:07.20 time (fourth all-time) at the 2016 Crimson classic.

Benisse Inamahoro (2017-18) cracks the team as one of the best runners in AUM history. Had the Warhawks been eligible for postseason awards in 2018, Inamahoro would have qualified for the second-team All-GSC team.

Like her fellow runners, Inamahoro holds many top-10 records at AUM. She holds the third-fastest 5k time in program history with an 18:37.00 at the 2018 Royals Cross Country Challenge while also sitting third in the 6k she set at the Bobcat Invitational in 2018.

Tanishya Jones (2014-18) was a versatile runner for the Orange & Black during her career as a Warhawk. Jones was named to the 2015 All-Conference SSAC team and has a top-10 time in the two-mile, 4k and 6k.

Katelynn Burns (2014-17) captured many of the same accomplishments as her teammate Jones during her tenure at AUM. Like Jones, Burns earned a spot on the 2015 All-Conference SSAC team and holds the fourth fastest 4k time, the eighth fastest 6k and the fourth fastest two-mile.

Sharlie Brooks (2013-15) concludes the all-decade list in style. Brooks was named both to the All-SSAC team in 2014 as well as earning a CapitalOne All-Academic honor as a Warhawk. Brooks raced with some of the best runners in AUM history being teammates with Swann, Burns and current graduate assistant Danielle Riggs.
