Kansas City, Mo. – The Auburn Montgomery Men's Soccer Team checked in at number eight in the final United Soccer Coaches Division II National Rankings of 2021 on Tuesday, Dec. 14, the program's highest ranking since making the move to NCAA Division II
 
The Warhawks took a massive next step in its NCAA membership in 2021, making a postseason run that saw them advance all the way to the "Elite Eight" round of the NCAA Postseason Tournament. The Warhawks recorded a 1-0 double-overtime victory at #9 Tampa on Nov. 21 in the round of 32 and a 0-0 draw with a 5-4 penalty-kick advancement at #1 Young Harris in the "Sweet 16" on Dec. 2 over the course of their postseason journey.
 
The Warhawks conceded just 17 goals over 20 matches, for an average of 0.85 per game, while recording 10 clean sheets on the season.
 
AUM's eighth-place ranking marks for the highest among Gulf South Conference institutions. The Warhawks are joined in the poll by fellow GSC member West Florida, who comes in at no. 24.
