Box Score ROME, Ga. – The Auburn University at Montgomery women's tennis team captured their first win of the season after defeating Gulf South Conference foe Shorter on the road on Wednesday afternoon 7-0.
The Warhawks get their first victory in seven tries and even their GSC record at 1-1 for the 2021 season. Shorter, meanwhile, falls to 0-3 on the year.
"The ladies played with a lof confidence today," said head coach
Yair Banuelos. "They've been showing a very consistent energy and determination in doubles. The doubles is setting the tone to play a better singles match. It is a good way to bounce back from two tough matches."
AUM was dominant in almost every element of the match on Wednesday in the 7-0 sweep of the Hawks, winning every doubles and singles match.
