Alessia Cappai Named GSC Freshman of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alessia Cappai who is a member of the Auburn University at Montgomery volleyball team won Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Week based on her performance this past week.

The Genoa, Italy native tallied 34 kills, 28 digs, and four service aces this past week.

Cappai helped the Warhawks go 2-1 during the week and had 11 kills in a 3-1 win at The University of Alabama at Huntsville on Oct. 25. She had 15 kills against the University of West Alabama on Oct. 28 in a 3-0 victory and capped off her week with eight kills in a loss against Mississippi College on Oct. 29.

The freshman has registered 201 kills and 206 digs this season. Her 201 kills are third most for Auburn Montgomery.

The AUM volleyball team returns to the court on Thursday night at Valdosta State University at 5 p.m.
