BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - For the second straight week,
Alessia Cappai has been named Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Week based on her performances for the Auburn University at Montgomery volleyball team this past week.
Cappai earned seven kills on Oct. 31 against Tuskegee and scored 12 points. She followed her Tuskegee performance with a career-high of 19 kills against Valdosta State University on Nov. 3 and had 16 digs which tied her career-high. She earned 23.5 points against the Blazers.
The freshman had another solid performance against the University of West Florida on Nov. 4 with 12 kills and added nine digs.
Cappai and the AUM volleyball team return to action Monday night at Valdosta State in the first round of the 2022 Gulf South Conference Tournament at 5 p.m.
