The Flames struck first in game one on a two-RBI double in the third, but the Warhawks were able to cut their deficit in half in the fourth via a Corey Armstrong single up the middle that resulted in a Flame throwing error plating the Warhawks' first run. Kasey Clark got the rally going with a one-out single up the middle before eventually being brought home.

AUM grabbed a 3-2 lead in the top of the fifth on Freeman's two-RBI double down to left field line. Clayton Philips led off the frame with a walk and was brought around to third on a sacrifice bunt turned throwing error off the bat of Ceman to set up the opportunity for Freeman.

Lee tied up the score at three in the bottom of the sixth inning, after a pair of singles and a walk led to a sacrifice fly. Morris was able to diffuse the situation by recording the inning's final two outs, including a strikeout with the bases loaded to end the frame.

AUM retook the lead in the top of the seventh on Syer's two-out RBI double down the right field line that plated Ceman. Ceman was hit by pitch with one out to get things going, and was brought to second on a groundout by Freeman.

The Flames led off the ninth with a pair of singles to right field, followed by a bunt base hit to load the bases with nobody out. After a strikeout by Slagle, the Flames knocked the walk-off base hit to left to take the contest 5-4.
