2022 UNA INVITATIONAL RESULTS

FLORENCE, Ala. -- Four runners posted 5K times under 20 minutes, and the Auburn University at Montgomery women's cross country team finished fourth in a field of 11 teams at the 2022 University of North Alabama Invitational.

Nicole Luther led the way as the top finisher for the Warhawks for the second week in a row. Freshmen Abagail Little and Kenlie Nelson also finished with 5K times under 20 minutes for the first time in their respective careers, helping AUM to a top-five finish.

SCORING FIVE

• Nicole Luther, for the second straight week, led the Warhawks as the team's top runner. She posted a time of 19:19.94 and finished in 13th place overall.
• Freshman Abagail Little raced to a 5K time of 19:41.80, marking the first time in her competitive career that she recorded a sub-20 minute 5K race. 
• One place behind Little, in 23rd place overall, was senior Isabella Gyori, who clocked a 5K time of 19:49.72 for the Warhawks. 
• A week after finishing fourth on the team at the JSU Invite, freshman Kenlie Nelson again placed fourth on the squad with a time of 19:52.59. She, too, registered a sub-20-minute effort in competition for the first time in her career. 
• Lucy Anthony posted a 20:13.28 5K time to finish as the final point scorer for the Warhawks. 

NOTABLES

• Little and Nelson finished as part of AUM's scoring five for the second straight competition. 
• The top six runners for the Warhawks finished the 5K race within a minute of each other. 

WORDS FROM THE WARHAWKS

"Proud of our team again this morning in Florence," said head coach Ryan Thompson. "It was a big race for Abby [Little] and Kenlie [Nelson], who both ran 19s. Neither of them had ever been sub 20 minutes before, so that is great to see. Overall it was a good 5K for our group to get the season started at that distance."
