MEN'S GOLD 8K RESULTS
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Auburn University at Montgomery men's cross country team turned in its third Top-10 finish as a team at the 2023 Royals Challenge, hosted by Queens University of Charlotte at McAlpine Creek Park.
Basil Koech led the Warhawks once again with a time of 25:23.47, good for 25th place in the 275-runner field.

SCORING FIVE
- Koech covered the 8K course in 25:23.47, which marked the eighth fastest time in school history.
- Mark Foster ran a 26:13.80 to finish second for the Warhawks and 74th overall.
- Dalton Benefield (26:35.75 - 85th) was the third AUM runner to cross the line.
- Right behind him was Patrick Pigg in 86th place with a time of 26:39.46.
- Connor Stotts also cracked the Top-100, as his 8K time of 26:48.84 was good enough to finish 98th overall.
NOTABLES
- For the fourth time in this freshman season, Koech paced the scoring runners for the Warhawks.
- The race marked the third Top-10 finish as a team at a meet this season for AUM.
- Koech has earned a Top-10 spot on one of AUM's all-time performance lists in each of his four races this year.
