BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Ruth Sconocchini, Kaleigh Fitzgerald, and Myllena Torquetti of the Auburn University at Montgomery volleyball team were named to the 2023 Gulf South Conference Newcomer Watch List on Tuesday morning according to an announcement made by the conference office. 

The Warhawks return eight members of the 2022 squad that advanced to the GSC Semifinals and bring in seven newcomers. 

The GSC also released the 2023 Coaches Poll and Auburn University at Montgomery was selected to finish seventh in the conference with 65 points. 

AUM is slated to begin the 2023 campaign against Francis Marion University on September 1 at 11 a.m. in the Newberry College Volleyball Invitational. 

Ruth Sconocchini

Sconocchini joins the Warhawks as a freshman rightside hitter from Filottrano, Italy after playing high school volleyball for Liceo "Da Vinci". She greaduated high school in 2023. 

Kaleigh Fitzgerald

Fitzgerald is a transfer from Ualbany and the University of Hartford. The Waukesha, Wis. native is a libero and ranked in the top 10 in each season in the American East Conference. 

Myllena Torquetti

Torquetti is a middle blocker from Belo Horizonte, Brazil. She joins the Warhawks as a junior and is a 2018 grauate of Escola Estadual Pedro II.
