VALDOSTA, Ga. -- The Auburn University at Montgomery baseball team used 11 runs on seven first-inning hits to set the tone for a 15-4 win in the weekend finale as the Warhawks secured a series win over Valdosta State University, who is receiving votes in the latest NCBWA Top 25 poll.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Zach Dew converted a sacrifice fly, Jackson Ceman plated a run on an HBP, and Hayden Grier reached on a fielder's choice to help the Warhawks open up a 4-0 lead in the first frame.
- AUM continued to expand the lead in the first, as JC Tunnell, Tyrese Rooks, and Brendan York all added RBI singles to make it 8-0.
- Cooper Doughman blew the game wide open with a two-out, bases-clearing double to run the score to 11-0 Warhawks.
- AUM scored 11 runs on seven hits, walked three times, was hit by a pitch, and was helped by two Blazer errors in the top of the first.
- Jarren Wright adds an RBI infield single & York's sacrifice fly made it 13-1 after two frames.
- With the bases full, Rooks added a walk in the sixth to make it 14-4.
- Dew's seventh-inning sac fly made it 15-4 and helped seal a series win for the Warhawks.
ON THE MOUND
- Luke Turner allowed four runs on 10 hits against three strikeouts in 4.2 innings of work.
- Lucas Baggett (2-0) picked up the win. He allowed one hit and one walk in 1.1 innings of work.
- Brett Pitts allowed a single hit with a strikeout in 1.0 of relief.
NOTABLES:
- Tyrese Rooks' 3-for-4 effort runs his hitting streak to 10 games.
- Rooks added his seventh multi-hit game of the season, York added his fifth, and Tunnell earned his third multi-hit game of the campaign.
- Doughman's three-RBI double gave him his third multi-RBI game this season.
- All nine Warhawks scored at least one run, while seven Warhawks tallied at least one hit and at least one RBI.
- The AUM bullpen allowed just one run in 6.2 innings of relief on five hits.

- "We are starting to understand how the little things control each game," said head coach Franklin Bush. "The two-strike HBP from [Jackson] Ceman in the first inning changed the game. Sometimes those things go unnoticed, but not in this program. We will live for those moments and continue to attack our standard daily."
