HIGHLIGHTS
  • Lenoir-Rhyne opened the game with five runs in the home first, helped by three AUM errors.
  • The Warhawks were held in check until the top of the fourth inning when they pushed across a five-spot of their own to tie the game.
  • JC Tunnell and Kasey Clark added RBI singles, Tyrese Rooks smacked a two-run single, and Zach Dew doubled home the tying run.
  • The Bears immediately answered with an RBI single and a wild pitch to take the lead back, 7-5.
  • Tunnell added an RBI groundout in the seventh for the Warhawks.
  • Lenoir-Rhyne put up four runs in the fifth, seventh, and eighth innings to take control of the game.
ON THE MOUND
  • Carson Beach drew the no-decision as he allowed two earned runs with one walk and two strikeouts in three innings.
  • Cody Lee worked 1.1 innings of relief and yielded three hits and two walks.
  • Trey Bacon also allowed three hits and two walks in 1.2 innings of work.
  • Michael Myers walked one and struck out a pair in two innings to finish out the game.
NOTABLES
  • Rooks extended his hitting streak to 11 games. He also turned in his sixth multi-RBI contest of the season.
  • Dew added his team-leading 12th and 13th doubles of the campaign.
  • Ceman added his 11th game this season with multiple hits and added his second three-hit effort.
  • Tunnell registered his fourth game of the season with multiple RBIs, including his third straight.
MANAGER'S CORNER
  • "Lost in every aspect of the game," said head coach Franklin Bush. "Offensively, defensively, and on the mound. Playing on the road allows the offense to set the tone. Offensively, we didn't set the tone. We didn't bring an approach to the plate and gave away those at-bats. That set up our defense and pitching set the tone. We began the game defensively with three free bases. That's not a winning recipe. We clawed our way back into the game, but we weren't tough enough to take control. You're either a loser or a learner....we will find ways to learn from this wasted opportunity."
UP NEXT
  • The Warhawks and the Bears finish out their midweek double-dip at Durham Field in Hickory, N.C. at 1 p.m. CT.
