MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- The 21st-ranked Auburn University at Montgomery baseball team gave up seven runs in the first inning and a comeback attempt fell just short on Tuesday afternoon at Q.V. Lowe Field in the team's regular-season home finale.
After getting down 8-0 after two innings, AUM scored five runs in the third, one in the fourth, and one in the seventh inning to make it a one-run game. Albany State, however, found some insurance with a late home run and held on for the midweek win.

MANAGER'S CORNER
- "Energy, intent, effort, and focus," said head coach Franklin Bush. "Those are the things we control every single day. We make a choice to bring those four things to the field, weight room, classroom, and other opportunities daily. The choices we make affect us individually, as a team, and this baseball program. We have to make championship choices if we want the opportunity to compete for one. We didn't do that today from the first pitch to the last pitch. We will learn from this and do a better job controlling the controllables. We're eager to get back to training tomorrow and prepare for our next opportunity."
UP NEXT
- The Warhawks turn their attention to a three-game weekend series against the University of Montevallo to finish off the regular season.
