BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Gulf South Conference announced its weekly volleyball awards on Tuesday, recognizing senior outside hitter
Kendall McCain of the Auburn University at Montgomery Warhawks volleyball team as the GSC Player of the Week for her outstanding performance across three conference matches last week.
MCCAIN IN MOTION
AUM faced three strong GSC opponents last week, beginning with a road match against Valdosta State before returning home for a pair of five-set thrillers against Christian Brothers and Union.
McCain recorded a career-high 26 kills in the victory over Union and totaled an impressive 59 kills (4.54 per set) while hitting .345 for the week, including a .426 clip in the Union match. She also added three service aces, 37 digs (2.85 per set), and 63.5 total points, while posting a pair of double-doubles.
WARHAWK WEAPON
On the season, McCain is one of only five Warhawks to appear in all 49 sets. She leads the team with 149 kills (3.04 per set) and 159.0 total points (3.24 per set). Additionally, she has contributed five service aces, 69 digs (1.41 per set), and eight blocks.
McCain currently ranks sixth in the GSC in kills per set (3.04) and ninth in points per set (3.24).
