Warhawks Impress At Falcon Classic

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Auburn University at Montgomery women's cross country team took part in the Falcon Classic on Friday evening, finishing the event in second place as a team. The University of Montevallo hosted the 5K event, and the field included 13 schools and 108 student-athletes.
 
The Warhawks finished with a team total of 46, just two points behind meet champion Alabama State and nearly 50 points ahead of third place. AUM has now taken fourth place or better in each of the first two races to begin the 2025 campaign.
 
"What a night," exclaimed Head Coach Ryan Thompson. "Women are running with so much confidence and having fun. They love racing right now."

Sophomore Emma McGee led the way for AUM, picking up fourth place behind a time of 18:46.4, with teammate Railey Prins (18:58.2) finishing in fifth with a new career-best. Mckenzie (19:07.31) David shaved 19 seconds off her personal best to earn ninth place, while Adley Burks (19:22.82) gave the Warhawks four of the top ten.   
 
Kyndal Little was the next Warhawk runner across the finish, doing so in 20:03.03, with freshman Ryan McGilvray (20:15.45) turning in the best time of her young career. Franzi Dempwolf rounded out the scoring for Auburn Montgomery, snagging 33rd overall with a mark of 20:40.58.
 
The Warhawks are back in action on Friday, September 26, when they head to Tallahassee to compete in the Seminole Invite.
