DAHLONEGA, Ga. - The Auburn University at Montgomery women's tennis team fell 6–1 on the road to the North Georgia Nighthawks on Monday afternoon at the UNG Tennis Complex at Yahoola Creek in Dahlonega, Georgia. North Georgia entered the match ranked No. 3 in the preseason poll by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). 

Doubles 
The North Georgia Warhawks secured the doubles point by winning two of the three matches. Play at the No. 1 position finished first when Melissa Yakup Pour and Nagisa Yonezawa fell 6–2. Shortly after, the No. 2 pairing of Mercedes Garcia Cid and Allison Blanco dropped a 6–4 decision to Emily Bush and Linn Goerdes, clinching the doubles point for the Nighthawks. Doubles play concluded at the No. 3 spot, where Sofia Neri and Ana Clara Campigotto earned AUM's lone doubles win with a 7–6 victory over Erika Terek and Sofia Giraldo. 

Singles 
Singles play opened at the No. 3 position, where Garcia Cid dropped a tight straight-set decision to Stokusova, 6–4, 7–5. Shortly after, action wrapped up at No. 4 as Yonezawa fell, 6–2, 6–3. 

The next result came at No. 2, where Neri battled through a competitive second set before falling, 6–1, 7–6. Play continued at No. 1 as Yakup Pour faced Opolska, ultimately falling in three sets, 1–6, 6–0, 6–2. 

At the No. 6 position, Campigotto fought through a back-and-forth match against Terek, but came up just short in a decisive match tiebreak, falling 1–6, 6–1, 12–10. Singles play concluded at No. 5, where Blanco earned AUM's lone point of the match, coming from behind to win after splitting the first two sets and then closing out the match with a strong performance in the deciding tiebreak, 6–7, 6–3, (10–2).

The Warhawks will open Gulf South Conference play on the road, traveling to Memphis to face Christian Brothers Buccaneers at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 20.
