MONTGOMERY, Ala. - College Sports Communicators announced its Academic All-District honorees for women's basketball, Tuesday morning, with four Auburn University at Montgomery student-athletes earning recognition.
Tamora Brown claims the honor after starting 20 games for the Warhawks while averaging 13.8 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. She finished second on the team in scoring with 358 total points and leading the team with 54 steals. Brown maintained a 3.70 GPA as a Computer Science major.
Ameyah Gray played in all 28 games and scored 133 points on the season while averaging 4.8 points per game. She pulled down 82 rebounds and shot an impressive .893 from the free-throw line, one of the top marks on the team. Gray maintains a 3.57 GPA as a Pre-Nursing major.
Shelby McAlister appeared in 26 games and totaled 98 points while knocking down 16 three-pointers. She added 50 rebounds and 28 assists on the season. McAlister holds a 3.75 GPA as a Criminal Justice major.
Paige Taylor appeared in 27 games and recorded 25 rebounds while adding 19 points on the season. She provided depth in the post for AUM and maintained a 3.71 GPA as a Finance major.
The Academic All-District Women's Basketball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom, requiring a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA and significant athletic participation (90 percent of games played or 66 percent of games started) across NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA.
