GREENWOOD, In. - Auburn University at Montgomery women's cross country student-athlete Emma McGee has been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, as announced Tuesday afternoon.
McGee, a biology major with a minor in STEM Teaching, owns a 3.84 cumulative GPA and was one of the Warhawks' top performers throughout the cross country season. She closed her cross country campaign by leading AUM to a program-record 10th-place finish at the NCAA Division II South Region Championships, placing 44th overall in the 6K race with a time of 23:11.60.
Earlier in the postseason, she recorded a personal-best 6K time of 22:35.30 at the Gulf South Conference Championships, finishing 36th overall against the league's top competition.
During the regular season, McGee turned in a pair of top-10 finishes, placing fourth at the Montevallo Falcon Classic and eighth at the UNA Invitational, where she set a personal-best 5K mark of 18:46.40.
She carried that momentum into the indoor track season, earning a runner-up finish in the 10,000-meter run at the Falcon Classic & Multi while posting a personal record and moving into second place on AUM's all-time performance list in the event.
McGee also established a personal-best time of 18:17.17 in the 5,000-meter run at the UAB Spring Invitational, placing sixth overall.
The CSC Academic All-District Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their performances both athletically and academically. To be eligible, student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA while meeting competition requirements for their respective sport.
