MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The United Soccer Coaches announced the first edition of its 2026 NCAA Division II men's soccer poll Tuesday, with Auburn University at Montgomery earning the No. 9 ranking.

The Warhawks earned the No. 9 spot after opening the season with a perfect 2-0 record, defeating two of the South Region's top programs during the opening weekend; Saint Leo 2-0 and Tampa 3-1. AUM outscored its opponents 5-1 across the two matches and recorded a shutout in its season opener.

AUM opened the season on Aug. 28 with a 2-0 victory over Saint Leo at AUM Soccer Stadium.
Jaden McKree scored both goals for the Warhawks, while
Jakob Buhrkuhl recorded a clean sheet in goal.

The Warhawks followed with a 3-1 comeback victory over Tampa just two days later, completing the opening weekend with a pair of wins over high-level opponents.

The No. 9 ranking comes after AUM was selected as the preseason favorite in the Gulf South Conference. The Warhawks received four first-place votes and 94 points in the GSC preseason coaches poll.

AUM enters the 2026 campaign following a 10-5-3 season in 2025, including a 6-3-2 record in GSC play. The Warhawks advanced to the GSC Tournament semifinals last season.

AUM will look to continue its strong start when it returns to action Wednesday, September 2 in Florence, South Carolina where they will face Francis Marion. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m.
