Eva Hendriks Named GSC Freshman of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Freshman Eva Hendriks of the Auburn University at Montgomery women's soccer team was named the Gulf South Conference (GSC) Freshman of the Week, as announced by the conference office Tuesday morning. 

This marks the first weekly conference honor of Hendriks' collegiate career as well as the first weekly conference honor of the season. 

Hendriks played a key role for the Warhawks in their first two matches of the season, recording two goals, one assist and five points while helping AUM finish the week 1-0-1 against two strong opponents. 

In AUM's season opener against Emory University, the 2025 NCAA Division III National Championship finalist, Hendriks scored her first collegiate goal to account for the Warhawks' lone goal in a 1-1 draw. She finished the match with three shots and two shots on goal. 

The Fort Lauderdale, Florida native followed with another strong performance against previously undefeated Edward Waters, scoring a goal and adding an assist in AUM's 3-0 shutout victory. She converted her first collegiate penalty kick while recording career highs with 11 shots and five shots on goal. 

Across the two matches, Hendriks averaged 7.0 shots and 2.5 points per game while recording seven shots on goal while totaling 156 minutes.

The Warhawks return to action Wednesday, September 2 to battle against the Tuskegee Golden Tigers in Tuskegee, Alabama with kickoff set for 6 pm CT.
