Auburn University at Montgomery Athletics

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn University at Montgomery Warhawks volleyball team (2-8) wrapped up the 2026 Warhawk Invitational with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-16, 25-19) loss to the Arkansas Fort Smith Lions (11-2) on Saturday afternoon from the AUM Athletics Complex.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1
AUM and UAFS traded points early before the Lions opened up a 14-6 advantage. The Warhawks battled back to cut the deficit to 18-8 before a late push brought AUM within seven at 23-16. UAFS closed out the set, 25-16.
 
Set 2
The Warhawks took an early 2-0 lead in the second set and remained within striking distance at 9-4. UAFS eventually extended its lead to 18-11, but AUM continued to fight, pulling within four at 20-16. The Lions scored the final five points to take the set, 25-16.
 
Set 3
UAFS jumped out to a 5-3 lead before extending its advantage to 12-5. AUM continued to battle and used a 5-0 run late in the set to pull within 20-15. The Warhawks later cut the deficit to 23-19, but the Lions scored the final two points to secure the 25-19 set victory.
 
NOTABLES

• Mya Lacey led AUM with eight kills while hitting .143 and added two service aces. She was named to the All-Tournament Team for her efforts throughout the Warhawk Invitational.
• Chelsea Daffin recorded seven kills and seven digs.
• Jamya Powell finished with five kills and a block assist.
• Addison Vinson tallied 20 assists and 12 digs.
• AUM finished with 34 digs and five service aces as a team.
