Baseball Hits The Road For Gulf South Conference Series At Lee University With New Start Times

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery baseball team treks to Cleveland, Tenn., for a three-game, Gulf South Conference series against Lee University. Originally scheduled for one game on Friday, March 23 and a doubleheader the following day, AUM and Lee will now begin the three-game slate with a doubleheader on Friday starting at 1 p.m. Central Standard Time with Saturday's single game starting at 11 a.m.

About the Warhawks
AUM (11-13, 4-8 GSC) hits the road after wrapping up a season-long eight-game homestand on Tuesday, March 20 against North Alabama, falling to the visiting Lions 10-6.
 
Offensively, Auburn Montgomery is hitting .258 (194-751) with a .369 slugging percentage off the strength of 31 doubles, two triple and 16 home runs while posting 104 walks for a .362 on base percentage and 89 RBI. Sophomore infielder Hayden Friesen leads four Warhawks hitting over .300 with a .395 average, followed by senior infielder Nathan Langley, junior infielder Jonathan Brandt and senior first baseman Curtiss Johnson with marks of .376, .313 and .304, respectively. Langley leads the team with 32 total hits, 20 walks, 18 runs scored, nine stolen bases and seven doubles while matching sophomore catcher Kyle Khoury with one triple. Brandt boasts a team-leading four home runs, propelling the junior to a team-best .530 slugging percentage, and 14 RBI.
 
On the mound, AUM sports a 4.91 ERA while tallying 140 strikeouts with 63 walks in 198.0 innings of work to date. Redshirt sophomore right-handed pitcher Hank Scott logs a team-high 46.0 innings over seven starts, tied with senior left-handed pitcher Garrett Deloney, while also leading the team with 36 strikeouts and four victories. Freshman righty Sam Steigert leads the pitching staff with 12 mound appearances, two saves, a 1.59 ERA and .190 opposing batting average.
 
About the Flames
Lee (13-14, 6-6 GSC) hosts the Warhawks after besting visiting Tusculum College 12-10 on Wednesday, March 21.
 
The Flames are hitting .265 (229-865) as a team with a .391 slugging percentage coming from 35 doubles, one triple and 24 home runs while tallying 143 RBI and 113 walks. Miguel Pimentel holds a team-leading .333 batting average, with Peyton Meeker hitting six doubles, Spencer Mossburg recording their lone triple and Chase Gadau boasting seven home runs. Mossburg scores a team-best 26 runs while Tyler Payne drives in a team-high 21 RBI with 18 walks.
 
On the mound, Lee has a team ERA of 4.21 with 210 strikeouts and 88 walks in 231.0 innings. Jumpei Akanuma logs a team-high 45.1 innings over seven starts, matching Pat Morrow who strikes out a team-best 41 batters. Wes Albert makes a team-leading 10 mound appearances while Logan Workman sports a team-low 0.68 ERA and .178 opposing batting average.
