MONTGOMERY, Ala. ---The Auburn Montgomery department of athletics will once again be partnering up with the national nonprofit Make-A-Wish Foundation for the 2019-20 athletic season.
Â
In association with NCAA Division II's partnership with the Make-a-Wish Foundation, AUM Athletics raised over $2,000 during the 2018-19 academic year through donations and pledges.Â
Â
Pledges for the 2019-20 season will be based on a student-athlete's performance on the field and in the classroom, and can be done by filling out aÂ
Pledge Sheet. Donations can also be made directly by visitingÂ
AUM's Make-A-Wish page.
Â
In addition to pledges and online donations, there will also be three Fall competitions where no admission will be charged for attendees. Instead, spectators will be asked for donations towards AUM's Make-A-Wish campaign. Those competition dates are Tuesday, Oct. 22 (volleyball vs. Clark-Atlanta and Albany State) and Sunday, Oct. 27 (men's and women's soccer vs. Lee).Â
Â
The Student Athlete Advisory Committee will also be selling Make-A-Wish stars for cash donations at Warhawk Spotlight Games, which will take place on Friday, Oct. 11 (men's soccer vs. UAH), Thursday, Oct. 17 (women's soccer vs. Montevallo) and Thursday, Nov. 5 (volleyball vs. Valdosta State).Â
Â
Winter and Spring sports dates for admissions donations and spotlight games will be announced at a later date.
Â
It is the department's goal this year to raise $8,000, which is the average cost of granting a child's wish
