ABOUT THE WARHAWKS
The men's (1-1) and women's (1-1) tennis teams will look to bounce back after dropping their first contests of the year to the number-three ranked women and number-two ranked men of Columbus State University on Friday, Feb. 14.
The Warhawk women's tennis team remain undefeated at the No. 1 Doubles spot.
Sofia Navarro and
Maria Casas captured their second win of the season by defeated Trkljia and Baran of Columbus State (7-6) their last time out.
Casas, Navarro, Alba De La Torre,
Julia Enderink and
Sofia Mustre all hold a record of 1-1 in singles play to begin the year.
Joao Guariente and
Francisco Jimenez of the men's squad come into the week 1-1 as a doubles duo, while
Muhamad Bedwan,
Jose Garcia,
Nino Portugal and Guariente hold a record of 1-1 in singles.
ABOUT SHORTER UNIVERSITY
The Shorter men's tennis team comes in 0-2 on the year, with losses against no. 19 Valdosta (7-0) State and Christian Brothers (6-1) their last time out on Feb. 18.
The women's tennis team currently holds a record of 0-3 with losses against Valdosta State (7-0), Christian Brothers (6-1) and Georgia Southwestern (4-3) in their most recent contest.
ABOUT YOUNG HARRIS COLLEGE
The Young Harris men's team comes into the week with a record of 1-1 in 2020. The Cougars fell to Tusculum 5-2 to begin the season on Saturday, Feb. 22 and knocked off Lincoln Memorial 5-2 in their most recent match on Sunday, Feb. 23.
The Young Harris women's tennis team holds an 0-2 record to start the season, with losses against Tusculum (6-1) on Saturday, Feb. 22. and Lincoln Memorial (5-2) on Sunday, Feb. 23.
ABOUT THE MATCHUPS
The AUM men's tennis team has won their last 22 matches against Shorter University, dating back to 2006, while the women have beaten Shorter 19 times in a row since 2006.
Both the men's and women's squads have won their last two matchups each with Young Harris College, dating back to 2016.
