2022 NCAA SOUTH REGION CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS
LAKELAND, Fla. -- Behind personal-record performances from nearly the entire lineup of runners, the Auburn University at Montgomery men's cross country team took home an 11th-place finish at the NCAA South Region Championships.
The race marked the final competition of a successful 2022 season for the Warhawks.
Austin Atkinson broke his own school record in the 10K race, as he raced to a 33:13.8, which is more than 11 seconds faster than his 2019 NCAA South Regional time of 33:24.21.

SCORING FIVE
- Atkinson turned in a time of 33:13.8, which placed 55th overall in the field of 124 total runners.
- Connor Stoots was the second race finisher for the Warhawks with a big performance, as he posted a 10K time of 33:45.6.
- Wolfe closed out his AUM career as the Warhawks' third-finisher with a time of 34:06.3.
- Patrick Pigg's time of 34:14 placed him 77th in a crowded pack of finishers.
- Chance Cofield tallied another personal best for AUM (34:16.1) and rounded out the scoring five for the Warhawks.
NOTABLES
- Atkinson broke his own 10K school record by over 11 seconds.
- Stoots is credited with the third-best 10K performance in school history with his time of 33:45.6 today.
- Pigg also set a new personal best and made his way onto the all-time AUM 10K performance list in sixth place.
- Cofield now ranks seventh all-time with his 10K performance this weekend.
- Brady Thomas (34:38) and Drake Patton (34:40.8), AUM's sixth and seventh runners at this season's South Region Championships, also cracked AUM's Top 10 performance list in a 10K event.
