Yoder paces AUM, Warhawks take fourth at conference meet

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Auburn University at Montgomery Warhawks men's cross country team competed at the Gulf South Conference Championships on Saturday, wrapping up the 8K race in fourth place as a team. The meet, hosted by Christian Brothers, featured all 11 GSC teams and nearly 100 individual competitors.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
Caleb Yoder continued his impressive freshman campaign, setting a new PR with a time of 25:02.9 to lead the team with a 24th-place individual finish. His impactful race marked him with the sixth fastest 8K time for AUM.
 
Mikey Banks earned AUM's 10th fastest 8K time, finishing with a time of 25:09.4 while John Mathison (25:10.9) finished within two seconds of one another, snagging 29th and 30th place respectively.
 
Sophomore Brexton Hathaway (25:15.3) turned in a season-best performance to earn 32nd place, while Dalton Benefield (25:26.6) followed in 35th. Liam Zadoorian (26:11.1) came in 50th, with Parker Draughon (26:19.0) rounding out the AUM scoring in 57th.
 
The Warhawks have now finished in the top four on three occasions this season.

The NCAA South Regional is set to take place in Lakeland, Fla. on November 11, with the opening gun slated for 7:30 a.m.
