HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- Auburn University at Montgomery men's soccer players
Sean Keane and
Brayden Strait were named to the 2023 Gulf South Conference All-Tournament team for their postseason efforts for the Warhawks, as announced by the league office.
Keane, a Cork, Ireland native, played all 110 minutes of AUM's win over Christian Brothers University in penalty kicks in the GSC quarterfinal round. Keane scored the game-tying goal in the 47th minute of the match and also converted the final penalty kick to send the Warhawks to their third consecutive GSC semifinal appearance.
The midfielder finished the season with 15 starts in 16 games played and logged the fourth-most minutes on the squad in his debut season with the Warhawks (1,289). He added three goals, which tied for second on the team, and his six points ranked third on the squad.Â
Strait played in all 17 matches for the Warhawks with 16 starts and was second on the team with 1,458 minutes played. The defender was part of an AUM backline that conceded 0.71 goals per match, the best mark under head coach
Matthew Thorne.Â
