BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Gulf South Conference has announced its weekly men's soccer award winners, with Auburn University at Montgomery's freshman midfielder Noah Fernandes earning recognition following another standout performance for the Warhawks. After being named Freshman of the Week last Tuesday, Fernandes followed up with an even stronger showing, claiming both GSC Offensive Player of the Week and GSC Freshman of the Week honors after leading AUM's attack in a dominant conference victory.
 
FERNANDES STAYS HOT
Fernandes continued his impressive form in a pair of Warhawk victories, contributing to seven of AUM's goals across the week. In a 4-0 win over Union, the freshman tallied two goals and an assist on five shots, four of which were on target, while playing 76 minutes of dominant midfield action. He found the back of the net in the 19th and 33rd minutes to give the Warhawks early control. Fernandes followed that performance with two assists in a 3-1 victory over Christian Brothers, finishing the week with nine total points, as the pair of wins secured AUM's spot in the 2025 GSC Tournament.
 
FRESHMAN IMPACT
Through 14 matches this season, Fernandes has recorded seven goals and six assists for a team-high 20 points. He ranks ninth in the Gulf South Conference in goals per game, fourth in assists per game, and sixth in points per game. Four of his goals have been game-winners, tying him for the league lead in that category as he continues to make a major impact in his debut season with the Warhawks. This marks the second consecutive week Fernandes has been recognized by the GSC, following last week's Freshman of the Week honor. His consistent playmaking and scoring touch have quickly established him as one of the top young talents in the conference.
