This Week in AUM Athletics: MAR. 31 - APR. 6

MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- Each week, the Auburn University at Montgomery Office of Athletics Communications previews the upcoming week with “This Week in AUM Athletics.” We've got a loaded home schedule this week, starting off with tennis hosting West Florida on Wednesday, and then baseball and softball welcoming Valdosta State to town this weekend.

The upcoming marketing promotions for this week will be the SGA Cookout and T-Shirt giveaway at Tennis on Wednesday and SGA Grill out at baseball on Saturday and Softball on Sunday.

  • AUM baseball sits at 10-24 and 7-14 in GSC play and is coming off a series win at No. 25 West Florida.
  • They will host Valdosta State this weekend for a three-game series starting on Friday.
  • Valdosta State is 14-6 in conference play this season and stands in second place.
  • The Warhawks were selected fourth in the GSC preseason poll.
  • Zach Dew and Ryan Slaten Slaten were selected to the preseason All-GSC team.
  • In addition to the 14 returners, AUM also welcome 25 newcomers for the 2025 campaign.
  • AUM is 3-2 in its last five games.
  • AUM softball is 24-8 on the year and 15-6 in conference play.
  • Ranked #5 nationally in NFCA top-25, New Poll announced April 1 at NFCA.org.
  • The Warhawks were selected third in the GSC preseason poll with four first-place votes.
  • AUM will host Valdosta State this weekend for a three-game series starting on Saturday at noon.
  • Valdosta State currently leads the GSC standings at 15-5 in conference play.  
  • Chelsea Newsome tossed the 18th no-hitter in program history against Trevecca.
  • AUM's pitching staff leads the GSC in ERA at 1.82.
  • AUM men's and women's tennis will host West Florida on Wednesday at 1 PM before welcoming Valdosta State this weekend.
  • The Warhawks men's team is 6-6 on the year and 2-2 in conference.
  • The women's team is 7-5 and 1-2 on the year and ranked No. 26 in the ITA national polls.
  • West Florida's men's team is ranked No. 1 in the ITA National Polls.
  • UWF women's tennis team is 5-2 in conference play so far this season.
