BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - AUM baseball standout
Riley Orr was named the Gulf South Conference Player of the Week on Tuesday following a monster stretch of four games for the Warhawks.
The junior outfielder hit .588 with three HR, 13 RBI to help AUM to a 3-1 week. The Maryville, Tennessee product slugged 1.176 with a .632 on-base pct. and hit .636 with runners on base. He was  5-for-9 with runners in scoring position and 2-for-2 with the bases loaded.
In the weekend sweep over Lee, he batted .583 with two HR, four runs scored and nine RBI. In the first game of Satruday's doubleheader, he went 5-for-6 with seven RBI, including a walk-off RBI single in the Saturday 9-inning contest. He hit a homer in both games on Saturday.
For the season, he has raised his average to .327 and has a 6-game hitting streak.
AUM will be in action on Wednesday with a pair of road contests at Spring Hill. The first game begins at 3 p.m. in Mobile at Historic Sims-Galle Field.
