McNeill Earns All-GSC Honors, Burns Named to Golden Glove Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Auburn University at Montgomery baseball was recognized twice in the Gulf South Conference yearly awards announced Thursday morning, as outfielder Christopher McNeill earned Second Team All-GSC honors and Tucker Burns was named to the GSC Golden Glove Team for his efforts at shortstop. 

McNeill was one of AUM's most consistent offensive threats throughout the season, appearing in 44 games and making 44 starts in the outfield. He hit .338 on the year, scoring 44 runs and driving in 30 RBI while providing steady production at the top of the lineup. McNeill finished the season with 9 doubles, 2 triples, and 8 home runs, posting a .569 slugging percentage and 91 total bases. He also reached base at a .423 clip with 20 walks and 6 hit-by-pitches. 

The outfielder went 8-for-10 in stolen base attempts and recorded 15 multi-hit games, including multiple three-hit and four-hit performances. One of his most notable outings came against Valdosta State, where he went 4-for-4 with 7 RBI in a standout offensive performance. Defensively, McNeill provided reliability in the outfield, finishing the season with a .978 fielding percentage over 91 total chances, recording 87 putouts and 2 assists.

Burns anchored the infield for the Warhawks, starting 44 games at shortstop while providing consistent production both offensively and defensively. He hit .297 on the season with 28 runs scored and 25 RBI, helping stabilize the lineup throughout conference play. 

Defensively, Burns was a key piece of AUM's infield success, finishing with a .965 fielding percentage over 44 starts at shortstop. He recorded 131 assists and 60 putouts while handling 198 total chances and committing just 7 errors on the season. He also turned 18 double plays, playing a central role in the middle infield. 

At the plate, Burns added 12 doubles, 1 triple, and 3 home runs, finishing with a .436 slugging percentage and 72 total bases. He also posted a .350 on-base percentage with 13 walks and 1 hit-by-pitch. Burns recorded 13 multi-hit games on the year, including a season-high four-hit performance against Georgia Southwestern, and delivered several key RBI outings, including 4 RBI against West Alabama and 3 RBI against Georgia Southwestern.
