JACKSON, Miss. – The Auburn Montgomery women's tennis team dropped a non-conference match with NCAA Division I member Jackson State University on Monday afternoon, falling 4-3 on the campus of the Tigers.
MATCH NOTES
• The match was originally scheduled for Friday, Feb. 9, but was moved to today due to inclement weather.
• AUM falls to 1-1 on the season while JSU improves to 1-5.
QUOTING THE COACH
"The match was a well-fought battle, it just came down to experience," said AUM head coach
Yair Banuelos. "We need to improve in some positions to close out opportunities and deal with pressure better. We'll use this match as a learning experience and stepping stone to get better and learn what college tennis is all about."

Alejandra Gil and
Sofia Navarro defeated Oni Jones and Chloe Gauvreau-Dredge, 6-1.
• No. 2 Doubles –
Julia Enderink and
Alba De la Torre fell to Nina Zhang and Ariel Dickson, 6-4.
• No. 3 Doubles –
Sofia Mustre and
Tonja Foessmeier fell to Lucia Solis and Dasha Butorinz, 7-5.
• No. 1 Singles – Solis defeated Navarro, 6-2, 6-2.
• No. 2 Singles – Zhang defeated Foessmeier, 6-0, 6-4.
• No. 3 Singles – Gil defeated Gauvreau-Dredge, 6-0, 6-0.
• No. 4 Singles – Butorinz defeated Mustre, 6-3, 6-1.
• No. 5 Singles – De La Torre defeated Dickson, 6-1, 6-4.
• No. 6 Singles – Enderink defeated Jones, 7-6, 6-3.
