Women’s Tennis Takes Down Clark Atlanta 9-0

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery women's tennis team snapped a two-match losing skid with a 9-0 victory over Clark Atlanta on Tuesday afternoon, improving to 4-4 on the season and 3-1 at the AUM Tennis Complex.
 
MATCH NOTES
• AUM improves to 4-4 on the season and 3-1 in home matches.
• CAU falls to 7-5 this year and 1-2 in away matches.
 
QUOTING THE COACH
"Today we played solid tennis and we took care of business," said head coach Yair Banuelos. "We tried some different doubles teams and the team adjusted really well. I am pleased with the performance of the ladies in both singles and doubles."
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• No. 1 Singles: Sofia Navarro defeated DiAndrea Galloway 6-0, 6-3.
• No. 2 Singles: Sofia Mustre defeated Vanessa Eusebio 6-0, 6-2.
• No. 3 Singles: Tonja Foessmeier defeated Nicola Ramdyhan 6-2, 5-7, 10-0.
• No. 4 Singles: Alejandra Gil defeated Keyvone Moultrie 6-0, 6-0.
• No. 5 Singles: Alba De la Torre defeated Alexis Fletcher 6-2, 6-0.
• No. 6 Singles: Julia Enderink defeated Jade Shugars 6-3, 6-0.
 
• No. 1 Doubles: Enderink and Navarro defeated Galloway and Shugars 8-1.
• No. 2 Doubles: De La Torre and Gil defeated Eusebio and Akilah Parker 8-3.
• No. 3 Doubles: Foessmeier and Mustre defeated Moultrie and Ramdyhan 8-1.
 
UP NEXT
The Warhawks will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Huntsville, Ala., to take on Gulf South Conference foe Alabama Huntsville in a dual match set to begin at 11 a.m. on the campus of the Chargers.
