2022 UNA INVITATIONAL RESULTS

FLORENCE, Ala. -- The Auburn University at Montgomery men's cross country team placed third overall at the 2022 University of North Alabama Invitational as the team's top five runners all finished within 35 seconds of each other on Saturday morning.

Thomas Wolfe led a tight group of Warhawks finishers with a time of 26:08.34 as each of AUM's top seven runners raced to a time under 27 minutes and finished in the Top 25 in a field of over 100 runners.

SCORING FIVE

• Thomas Wolfe posted AUM's top time, as he crossed the finish line in 26:08.34 to place 10th overall.
• Austin Atkinson, the second-place finisher on the team in the 8K race, led a solid pack of Warhawks behind Wolfe. Atkinson placed 13th overall with a time of 26:31.64.
• Patrick Pigg finished one place behind Atkinson, in 26:33.24, as he was the third Warhawk runner to cross the line. 
• Sophomore Brady Thomas' 26:43.06 8K time was good enough to place fourth on the team and 17th overall in the field.
• Chance Cofield rounded out the top five for the Warhawks as he posted a time of 26:46.69. 
• Two more Warhawks, Drake Patton (26:50.91) and Joshua Jenkins (26:54.86), finished the race in under 27 minutes to round out the team's top seven individual finishers. 

NOTABLES

• Just 35 seconds separated the team's top finisher and the team's fifth scoring spot for the Warhawks.
• AUM's top eight runners finished in the top 25 out of a field of over 100 runners. 

WORDS FROM THE WARHAWKS

"Our men's team put together a really nice season-opening race in Florence this morning," said head coach Ryan Thompson. "We finished right behind Montevallo and also beat conference foe West Florida. The whole team gave great effort to start our season, and we ran well together as a whole team."
