COMPETITION SCHEDULE | TOURNAMENT HOMEPAGE

MONTGOMERY, Ala. --
A pair of Auburn University at Montgomery women's basketball players, Jyordanna Davey and Lilly Parke, are set to compete for team New Zealand at the FIBA U18 Women's Asian Championship in India.

Davey, a Wellinton, New Zealand native, has been part of the national program for five years. She attended Wainuiomata High School and Sacred Heart College in New Zealand.

The 6-foot-1 small forward has a wealth of basketball experience in New Zealand, where she toured with the New Zealand Elite, playing against many of the top players in the country. She was also part of a New Zealand Hoop Nation team that played a tournament in Australia and earned first place.

Davey's accolades include being named Emerging Sportswoman of the Year in women's basketball and Young Sports Woman of the Year, as well as being named Most Valuable Player at the U15 national tournament. Davey tallied 20 points per game last season and shot 70 percent from the free throw line.

She also was on a team that earned a medal with a third place finish at U19 nationals playing for her hometown of Wellington.

AUM teammate Lilly Parke, who hails from Auckland, New Zealand, attended Baradene College of the Sacred Heart for high school. Parke averaged 22 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists last season prior to joining the Warhawks.

The 6-foot small forward also earned outstanding recognition, as she took home the College Sport Auckland Basketball Young Sportswoman of the Year in 2021. Parke was also part of Auckland U17 women's team who won bronze at the National Championships and was named into the tournament team.

She was also a member of the Steven Adams High School Invitational, where she was named to the All-Tournament team and won the overall MVP award.

The 2022 edition of the FIBA (Fédération Internationale de Basketball) tournament takes place in Bengaluru, India Sept. 5 through Sept. 11, and will feature eight national teams from across Asia and Oceania. The top 4 teams from the U18 Women's Asian Championship move on to represent the region in next year's FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup 2023.
