MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- Auburn University at Montgomery women's basketball player
Jamya Tyus earned the Warhawk of the Week for her performance this past weekend helping the Warhawks go 3-0 against Gulf South Conference The University of Alabama in Huntsville, University of West Alabama, and Shorter University.
In the game against UAH, Tyus finished with 16 points, three rebounds, and two steals for the Warhawks. Against West Alabama, Tyus contributed 12 points, three rebounds, and one steal to her performance. Continuing her momentum against Shorter, Tyus finished the game with 17 points, two rebounds, two assists, and three steals to cap off her week. Additionally, Tyus achieved a perfect free-throw percentage in her last two games, along with scoring in double digits in the past four games for the Warhawks.
Tyus is currently ranked seventh for free throw percentage in GSC, shooting 82 percent from the free throw line.
The Warhawks will be on the road for their next game against Delta State University at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 8 in Cleveland, MS.
