BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Golf South Conference has announced their weekly men's soccer awards which is highlighted by the University of Auburn at Montgomery's #25 ranked men's soccer team's freshman goalkeeper
Matteo Maccagni who earned himself the title of GSC Co-Goalkeeper of the week for his performance in the team's 2-0 victory over Carson-Newman last week.

MACCAGNI'S MAGIC
Maccagni started in goal against Carson-Newman where he etched a full 90 minutes of scoreless play. He recorded four saves including a late stop in the 79
th minute to complete the clean sheet and help the Warhawks to a 2-0 win.
Wednesday's shutout marked the rookie's first clean sheet as a Warhawk, giving AUM their first win as a ranked team this season.

ON THE YEAR
So far this season, Maccagni has competed in three matches with the Warhawks, including starts against Saint Leo and Carson-Newman. He has picked up eight saves while allowing just one goal.
The Piacenza, Italy native has proven himself early in his debut season in black and orange and looks to continue his success throughout the remainder of the promising season for AUM.
