MONTGOMERY, Ala. – After one of the most impressive 10-year stretches in collegiate tennis history, seven players have been named to the Auburn Montgomery women's tennis all-decade team.
The women's tennis team for AUM captured an astonishing 188 victories over 10 seasons of work. The Warhawks earned six SSAC conference championships and made an appearance in the conference championship match in every season they were eligible.
Former head coach Rolando Vargas led the Orange & Black to four National Championships, including back-to-back-to-back titles in 2011-13. AUM made the national tournament in every year while boasting NAIA status in the 2010s. AUM was able to add four national championship trophies in the decade.
Jade Curtis was one of the most dominant players in AUM women's tennis history and takes home the Player of The Decade honors. Curtis won three national championships in her career and earned four all-American awards, being named to the first team in every season, including South Region Rookie of The Year in 2011.
Ana Vaselinovic was a two-time ITA/NAIA all-American, earning singles, doubles, and scholar-athlete award recognition in 2011 and 2012. The two-time national champion was ranked as high as No. 1 in the nation during her time wearing the Orange & Black.
Tiffany William, along with teammate Vaselinovic, was a Fall Super Bowl Champion among winning multiple all-American awards and national Rookie of The Year in 2012. Having won numerous national championships, William was named a first-team NAIA All-American in 2012 and 2013.
Morgane Zowzcak accomplished a rare feat in college athletics, seeing the national championship match in four consecutive seasons. Zowzcak was a four-time all-American, earning second-team honors each year.
Despite playing just one season with the Warhawks, Alice Baudeigne earned First-Team All-American honors from the NAIA and was also named the Southern States Athletics Conference Player of the Year in 2015.
Kelly Southwood played three seasons for the Warhawks, playing from 2015-17. During her tenure, she earned All-America honors as a sophomore and junior. She was also a member of the CoSIDA Academic All-District and All-America teams.
Paula Diaz rounds out the list of exceptional women's tennis players in AUM's history. Diaz played four seasons for the Orange & Black and earned all-American honors in 2014, 2015 and 2016. She anchored the second position for the Warhawks in the 2015 National Championship match and clinched the championship point for AUM.
