BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – For the second consecutive week, Auburn University at Montgomery's freshman goalkeeper
Matteo Maccagni has been awarded the title of Gulf South Conference Goalkeeper of the Week, as announced by the league's office on Tuesday morning.

BACK-TO-BACK
After an equally successful pair of games that earned him the prestigious honor last week, Maccagni proved himself once again, playing a full 90 minutes on the road against both Trevecca-Nazarene and Lee.

He led the Warhawks to a 2-0 win over the Trojans while making a save to secure his second clean sheet of the season. He followed up his weekend with a strong performance against Lee, racking up a season-best five saves including late stops in the 80
th and 84
th minutes.

ON THE YEAR
In his collegiate campaign, Maccagni has seen action in five matches with four starts for the Warhawks. He ranks second in the conference in average goals against and for his .813 save percentage.

Hailing from Piacenza, Italy, Maccagni has shown tremendous effort in his debut season at AUM. He has totaled three wins with a pair of shutouts, and an impressive 14 saves throughout 2025.Â
