MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery baseball team revealed their all-decade team on Friday, July 24, with Sam Judah earning "Player of the Decade" honors.
The 2010's All-Decade squad features 14 all-conference selections and four NAIA All-Americans. The Warhawk/Senators won 335 games over the decade, with three 40-win seasons and a trip to the Avista NAIA World Series in 2016 highlighting their achievements.
Player of the Decade: Sam Judah (2010-11)
Judah (Ozark, Ala.) posted a career .379 batting average, to go along with 92 runs batted in, 13 home runs, 154 base hits and 32 career double's that rank 10th in program history. Judah was named to the Southern States Athletic Conference All-Division Team in 2011, and All-Conference team in 2010. Judah batted a decade-best .428 as a junior in 2010, while logging 83 hits, nine home runs, 55 RBI's and 21 doubles, which rank for the fourth-highest single-season total in program history.
As a pitcher, Judah ranks third in program history with 14 career saves, in addition to compiling a 2-1 record and 45 strikeouts over 36.1 innings out of the bullpen. Judah recorded 11 saves during the 2011 season, ranking for the fourth-best season total in program history.
Catcher – Michael Dugan (2009-12)
A two-time NAIA Scholar Athlete, three-time all-conference selection and three-time SSAC Gold Glove Team honoree, Dugan checks in as one of the most decorated players on the team. The former Warhawk/Senator backstop posted a .325 career batting average, to go along with 89 career RBIs and a .990 fielding percentage.
Dugan (Montgomery, Ala.) ranks in the top ten in program history in both career base hits (190) and doubles (33).
First Base – Logan Remson (2011-12)
Remson (Albertville, Ala.) slots in at first base on the all-decade squad. A 2012 SSAC All-Conference Second Team selection, the former first baseman logged a .349 career batting average, with 70-plus hits in each season to finish at 143 for his career.
Second Base – Chad Mansmann (2011, 2013)
A 2013 NAIA All-American and All-Conference honoree, Mansmann gets the nod at second base. The Millbrook, Ala. native's career .372 batting average is highlighted by his .411 average in 2013 that led all of the SSAC. Mansmann additionally led the SSAC in 2013 with a .520 on-base percentage, while knocking 81 hits and stealing 39 bases.
Third Base – Hunter Cross (2011-12)
A 2012 All-Conference and Capital One Academic All-America Team honoree, Cross earns the spot at the hot corner. Cross posted a career .350 batting average, with 150 hits and 105 RBIs.
The Grove Hill, Ala. native led the Warhawks with 86 base hits, 19 doubles and 50 RBI's in 2011 as a junior, in addition to batting .382. Cross ranks seventh in program history with 35 career two-baggers.
Shortstop – Nathan Langley (2017-18)
Former two-way player
Nathan Langley secures the spot at shortstop. Langley batted .344 over two seasons, including a 2018 senior campaign that saw him lead the Warhawks with a .383 average, 69 base hits, 36 runs scored, 25 runs driven in, 15 doubles and 15 stolen bases.
Langley amassed a 2.17 ERA in 62.1 career innings of work on the mound. The Opelika, Ala. native posted a record of 4-2 in 2018, with a 2.09 ERA, two saves and two-complete efforts.
Outfield – Sam Judah (2010-11), Dalton Kelley (2015-16), Darius Reese (2015)
A 2016 All-SSAC honoree, Dalton Kelley earns the second outfield spot up for grabs. Kelley posted one of the best offensive seasons of the decade in 2016 for the Orange and Black, while helping lead AUM to the Avista NAIA World Series. The Prattville, Ala. native tallied a team-high .380 batting average, 93 hits, 60 runs, 56 RBI's, 24 steals, 15 doubles and a single-season record 11 triples during his senior campaign in 2016.
Kelley was additionally named to the All-World Series team in 2016. The former utility man finished his Warhawk career with a .345 batting average, 151 hits, 94 RBI's, 92 runs, 46 steals, 26 doubles, 12 triples and four home runs.
Darius Reese slots in at the final outfield spot. A 2015 SSAC All-Conference selection, Reese proved to be a pivotal piece on the 2015 SSAC-Champion Warhawks by leading the Orange and Black with a .359 batting average, 13 doubles and four home runs. A member of the 2015 SSAC All-Tournament Team, Reese additionally logged 66 base hits during his lone season with AUM with 55 runs scored, 28 runs batted in and 24 stolen bases.
Designated Hitter – Dalton Cobb (2019-pres.)
Cobb checks in as the lone current Warhawk to make the All-Decade Team. A 2020 Gulf South Conference Spring All-Academic Team honoree, Cobb has led AUM in hitting in both 2019 (.350) and a shortened 2020 campaign (.370). In 69 games, Cobb has posted a .358 career batting average, 87 hits, 62 runs, 58 RBI's, 19 doubles and 16 home runs.
Pitchers
Cody Hall (2011-12)
Hall (Opp, Ala.) won a decade-high 17 games over his two-year stint with AUM, posting a career 2.05 ERA that ranks second in program history and 212 strikeouts that rank third all-time. The right-handed sidewinder notched 11 complete games, while earning NAIA All-America and All-Conference honors in 2012, and All-Division honors in 2011.
Hall's 2012 All-American campaign saw him tally nine wins, while striking out 126 batters and posting a 1.34 ERA over 107.2 innings pitched.
Cole Goodwin (2015-16)
Goodwin (Leesburg, Ga.) also notched a decade-high 17 wins in two seasons for AUM, while striking out 145, logging five saves, five complete games and posting a 3.30 ERA in 177.1 innings pitched. Goodwin burst onto the scene in 2015 as a junior, earning SSAC All-Conference honors with a 10-1 record, five saves, a 3.06 ERA and 79 strikeouts over 97 innings of labor.
Matt Miller (2015)
Miller (Jacksonville, Fla.) compiled an 8-4 record on the mound for AUM in his lone season in 2015, with a team-high five complete games. The former two-way player additionally led the Warhawks in 2015 with 67 base hits and 48 RBI's, while batting .345 with 27 runs scored and nine doubles as a first baseman.
Miller took home SSAC All-Conference and Gold Glove Team honors in 2015, while also being named to the SSAC All-Tournament team and Tournament MVP.
Kyle Mitchell (2010-11)
A 2011 All-Conference honoree, Mitchell posted a record of 12-7 with a career 3.89 ERA and 129 strikeouts over two seasons on the mound for AUM. The Panama City, Fla. native compiled an 8-3 record in 2011 as a senior, with a 2.81 ERA and 67 strikeouts over 83.1 innings.
Jed Carter (2016)
Carter (Tallassee, Ala.) led all of the NAIA with 16 saves in his lone season with AUM in 2016, a mark that ranks for the second-highest season total in program history. Carter allowed just seven runs in 34 innings pitched, while striking out 53 and holding opponents to a .176 batting average.
Carter was selected by the Chicago Cubs in the 15th round of the 2016 Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft.
Brady Eldridge (2015-16)
Eldridge (Slocomb, Ala.) tallied an 8-4 record exclusively out of the bullpen for AUM over two seasons, posting a 2.67 career ERA and striking out 61 batters over 70.2 innings. Eldridge recorded a 2.27 ERA and logged three saves in 2015, including an eight-out save against Faulkner University in the SSAC Championship game.
