MONTGOMERY, Ala. – After one of the most successful seasons in program history, six runners have been chosen for the Auburn Montgomery men's cross-country all-decade team.
Austin Atkinson has been chosen as the Runner of The Decade and has cemented himself as one of the best runners in the history of the program. Atkinson became the first runner to earn all-GSC honors in the postseason after finishing 10
th at the GSC Championships in 2019.
Atkinson also holds a plethora of records from his time at AUM. He holds the program record for the 10K after posting a 33:24.21 time at the school's first appearance in an NCAA Regional race. Meanwhile, he also holds the third-fastest 8K time, set at the Royal's Challenge in 2019.
Micah Britton becomes the second member of the all-decade team after his excellent start to his Warhawk career. Britton has captured the fastest 8K in program history after running a 24:59.00 at the 2018 Royal's Challenge. The Montgomery native also has two other top-10 finishes in the 8K race.
Zach Sollie (2012-15) helped establish the Warhawks as a young program in 2012. Sollie won multiple SSAC all-academic honors throughout his college career and in 2015 was named to the Capital One Academic All-District Team and was tabbed to the SSAC All-Conference Team.
Josh Escoe (2017-19) had an established career wearing the Orange & Black. He has captured the program's second-fastest time in the 8K with a 25:06.00 mark and holds the 5K record after his race at the JSU Struts Invitational in 2017. Had the Warhawks been eligible for postseason awards in 2017, Escoe would have qualified for a spot on the second all-GSC team.
Thomas Wolfe has made his mark in the history books during his tenure with AUM. The Trussville native holds the seventh-fastest time in the 8K and ran the third-fastest race at this season's NCAA Regional race. Wolfe was also named to the all-academic south regional team in 2019.
Denis Komen played a crucial role in getting the Warhawks to Lakeland, Fla., for the NCAA Regional in 2019. The Kenya native ran one of the best races in his young career after posting a 34:25.30 mark and finishing second on the team behind Atkinson.
