Katie Spain hit in the middle of the lineup and anchored the hot corner from 2012-15 for the two-time NAIA National Champion AUM softball team. A native of Whittier, Calif., Spain earned Second-Team All-American honors as a sophomore and honorable mention accolades as a senior, while helping the Warhawks to 177-48 record and four NAIA National Tournament appearances. At the time of her selection, Spain held the program record for career hits (217), runs scored (174) and at bats (610), while she ranked second in games played (214), home runs (39) and runs batted in (148). She also holds the school record for home runs in a season (15 in 2013), runs scored (62 in 2015) and walks (37 in 2015). Additionally, Spain is tied for a program-best with four hits in a game and had a school-record three multiple home run games. A member of the NAIA World Series All-Tournament Team as a junior and senior, she was a First-Team All-Southern States Athletic Conference selection her final three seasons. Also a standout in the classroom, Spain earned NAIA Scholar Athlete honors in 2014 and 2015.
