Card is a name synonymous with the AUM men’s basketball program, serving as an assistant coach for the team for 23 years. A former student-athlete at AUM, Card played three seasons and helped the team to its first two 20-win seasons and a pair of postseason appearances. The Auburn, Ala., native joined the AUM coaching staff in 1987 and promptly helped the program to a 32-3 record and the only NAIA National Championship game appearance. During his tenure working on the bench, he helped AUM to a 445-259 record, 10 NAIA National Tournament appearances and five conference or district championships. AUM won 20 or more games eight times and he coached 18 NAIA All-Americans. Following his time at AUM, Card became the head boys basketball coach at St. James High School in Montgomery. At the time of his selection, he has led the Trojans to 83 victories in seven seasons, an area championship, an area tournament titles and two of the three regional tournament appearances in school history.
