Saskia Hermans spent four years at Auburn University at Montgomery as a member of the women's tennis team, and when she completed her career, she was arguably the most decorated student-athlete in the history of AUM athletics. She won the NAIA National Singles title in 1990 and was the runner-up in 1991 and 1992. She also won the NAIA National Doubles Championship in 1993 and was the runner-up in 1990. Saskia was the NAIA National Player-of-the-Year in 1991 and the NAIA National Senior Player-of-the-Year in 1993. She won the Marvin P. Richmond Outstanding Player Award in 1991. Saskia is the only student-athlete, male or female, at AUM, to receive first team NAIA All-America honors all four years of competition.
