During the eight years that Nancy Harris served as the women's tennis coach and the five years she lead both the women's and men's squads at Auburn University at Montgomery, the two programs experience unprecedented success. The women's teams won the NAIA National Championship in 1992, and were national runners-up in 1991, 1993, 1994, and 1997. The men's squads captured NAIA National Championships in 1995 and 1996 under her tutelage. At the time that the AUM women's team won the NAIA National title, they were the first women's intercollegiate team in Alabama to win a national championship. When the men's team won the NAIA National Championship in 1995, it was the first time in NAIA history that a female coach had led a men's team to a national title.
