A two-year standout from 2007-08, Allen Ponder helped the then-Senators to a pair of Region XIII Tournament appearances, a Southern States Athletic Conference regular-season championship and a tournament title. An Auburn, Ala., native, he was a First-Team All-SSAC performer each season and earned all-region and Region XIII Gold Glove honors as a senior. He finished his career with a .363 batting average, 31 home runs and 133 runs batted in. At the time of his induction, his home run total was third, his RBI mark ranked fourth and his 39 doubles were fifth in school history. On the mound, he posted a 9-1 career record, striking out 77 batters in 59 1/3 innings. He finished with a career ERA of 2.28 and is tied for fifth with 10 career saves. Following his senior season, Ponder was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 2008 Major League Baseball Draft.
